Sarah Jessica Parker's Necklace Styling Hack Is Genius

Sarah Jessica Parker can pretty much do no wrong in the sartorial stakes.
From her early days in the limelight on SATC - when 90s suiting and a power perm made her the OG fashion influencer - to her more recent appearances on …And Just Like That, we've seen SJP pull off everything from bodycon mini dresses on the red carpet to fuchsia, full-length gowns with a train on a side street.
SJP was wearing oversized blazers, slip dresses and, of course, epic perms long before they were in fashion - and it looks like she's about to spark another trend.
A recent Vogue article pointed out that the actor has a very quirky jewellery styling hack; looping her necklace beneath her bra strap so that it dangles over the side of her safety-pinned T-shirt (pointing to evidence most recently here, here and here). But a little digging on the internet proves this isn't a recent styling hack and fans of SJP have been noticing (and questioning) it for years.
A Reddit thread titled: “Has anyone else noticed SJPs necklace styling quirk?” that shows a good example of SJP rocking the necklace-in-bra look and sparked hundreds of comments from fans of SATC who had been puzzled and impressed by the styling hack in equal measure for years.
“I think she had such a cool sense of style, it’s a different way of wearing jewellery. Could everyone pull it off? No. Is it quirky? Yes. Does SJP pull it off? To me, yes,” said one, whilst another added: "This is a high-school trick for good jewellery. It makes your jewellery harder to lose or steal and prevents it from smacking around when you run or jump. I learned it in private girls' school in NYC. Maybe she did too? I have to rewatch "Square Pegs" to see if she did it then."
Some viewers had less-than-impressed views on the quirky look, with one saying: “It drives me nuts! It’s often tucked into her bra strap so I think it’s on purpose…wondering if anyone has noticed it and/or knows what it’s about?!”, and another adding: “There’s a scene in season 2 of AJLT where it’s to the side like this. I kept waiting for it to be fixed, but it stayed like that the whole scene.”
Love it or loathe it, we think it just adds to SJP's brilliant sense of style and we might just be trying it ourselves.
