Love heart nails are trending on Twitter and it's all thanks to Harry Styles

The power that Harry Styles has over us all. Whew. The singer has set love heart nails trending on TikTok and Twitter, and it's not even Valentine's Day or Cuffin Season. Harry first debuted the adorable love heart design at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Coventry on the last weekend of May, but since then, the trend has gone stratospheric. In fact, beauty retailer Just My Look reported an explosive 9900% surge in demand for love heart nails immediately after Harry was seen gripping onto the mic with this dinky and precious design, and it's kept on growing since.

It makes sense. Nineties and Noughties Nostalgia is in full swing and Harry's mani design is a major throwback to when we wanted to draw hearts on everything – from our school planner, to our room posters and even our nails. Raise your hand if you were personally victimised by Tipp-Ex nail art. So it's a given we would be searching high and low for inspo on how to recreate Harry Styles' love heart nails.  

Fans rushed to Twitter to talk about the nails, with one user saying: “‘brb going to recreate these nails rn”.

Another user wrote in caps “THE NAILS OMG I'M [MATCHING] WITH HIM”. 

  Others simply typed love-themed red emojis in adoration.

Of course, Harry has already built some authority in talon talk and the nail care category after being spotted wearing a variety of fun nail designs during public and private appearances. The hashtag #harrystylesnails has already had over 4.3 million hits on TikTok. Then there's the small matter of him founding his own beauty brand, ‘Pleasing’ which features two collections of pearl and block colour nail polishes. 

But, if you fancy recreating his latest mani moment, we have all the tips and tricks you'll need to pull it off.

One of our fave Insta nail artists, Melanie at @overglowedit previously shared exactly how to get the love heart design nailed from home *no pun intended*. The main thing to remember is that all you need is a dotting tool (whether that would be the professional stuff or a bobby pin or a toothpick), the red and clear nail polishes and a steady hand.

In a tutorial shared on Instagram Melanie revealed that to achieve an easy love heart art, all you have to do is create two dots next to each other in the centre of your nail with the ball on the end of your bobby pin dipped in red polish. Then you just have to connect the two dots together by sketching the point of the heart, creating two diagonal lines or a triangle shape. The bobby pin can then also be used to fill in the space left in the centre. Although not essential, if you want to go the pros route, don't forget to go over with a gel top coat and pop it under a UV Lamp for that extra shine and a long-lasting finish.
